Cynological sportsDear friends!

We are glad to greet you on the official homepage of the International Federation of Cynological Sports (IFCS).

An idea of creating an international organization to unite amateurs of sport with dogs from all over the world appeared in 1999. In 2000 IFCS was founded as a union of national sports cynological organizations.

One of the main goals of IFCS is a development of cynological sports on the international level, its integration to the international sports system and the Olympic movement.

Sports with dogs in the Olympic games? Why not? If there is an equestrian in the Olympic program, why shouldn't be dog sport there?

The development of cynological sports goes promptly. In February of 2001 the international conference on cynological sports took place in Moscow under aegis of IFCS. Five countries (Latvia, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and the USA) signed the Declaration of the International Sports Cynological Movement , where the basic principles and goals of international system of cynological sports were formulated. In 2002 Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Hungary, Japan, South Africa, South Korea and Spain have also joined the international sports cynological movement. Also IFCS established cooperation with national sports cynological organizations of Armenia, Cuba, Netherlands and with sports clubs of number of countries on all five continents. In March of 2002 the First World Agility Championship was held in the capital of Russia – Moscow. In August of 2002 USA, Australia and Spain became IFCS members.

A successful development of dog sports depends on all of us, who is going in for different kinds of cynological sports, loves dogs competitions and believes in their Olympic future.

Uniting the efforts of all amateurs of dog sports of all over the world will make it real.
